An ice pack is a bag filled with ice and is applied to the body to reduce swelling or lower temperature. An ice pack slows down blood flow to an injury, thereby decreasing the pain and swelling of that injury. This cold therapy slows the circulation, reduces inflammation, muscle spasm, and pain. Its usually used for swollen or bruised injuries. It may also be a gel pack. An ice pack is a popular and effective in treatments to ease pain and swelling from minor injuries. For example, when someone sprains an ankle or has pulled a muscle, its usually the cold that would help a lot. I have decided to make an icepack so whenever in need for one, it'll be ready.
The first step to making an icepack is to first pour a cup or two of water into a zipper bag to prevent any leaks. Second, to prevent the water to freeze into a solid, add a cup of rubbing alcohol. Thirdly, before placing it in the freezer, I sealed the bag, taking out as much air as possible. To prevent the bag from tearing apart, I put it in a second bag. Lastly, I placed the bag in the freezer, leaving it there for at least an hour
Making this icepack was very simple and quick. Now, expensive icepacks don't need to be bought. Plus, some can be very cheap and rip easily. Now that this icepack was done, I'll have something to help reduce any swelling from an injury I might receive
